After the treatment, treat the area as a wound, keep it clean and hydrated.
You may use a very gentle unscented moisturizer with no alcohol, hydrating cream, or epidermal repair cream. Hydrating creams can be applied multiple times throughout the day. Avoiding sun exposure and applying sunscreen is crucial.
Avoid makeup for the first 5 days.
After your fractional ablation treatment, you can expect to feel a slight sunburn sensation, this should fade over the next 1-3 hours. Your skin will also be a pinkish-red colour, and a bit itchy for 1-3 days.
After the redness fades, there will be a slight grid pattern, and you will be able to see the tiny dots from the laser where the skin was ablated.
While the skin heals, it will get a slightly darker haze which will heal, and fall off. This can last from a few days to 2 weeks.
Fractional ablation is not painful, it feels like a warm puff of air, and there may also be a slightly warm prickly sensation.
The only discomfort that a client will feel is the warmth for the 1-3 hours after treatment.
If the client is concerned about the treatment, we are able to offer a topical numbing cream to ensure you are as comfortable as possible.
