Cosmetic Tattoos and more!

What are Permanent Cosmetics/Cosmetic Tattoos?

Micropigmentation, or cosmetic tattoos are a paramedical service with little to no downtime. This service is relatively new & is in trend to take over North America!

Cosmetic tattoos are a great option for men and women and provides clients with a variety of options for semi-permanent enhancements which add to the client’s over all confidence.

There are several semi-permanent tattoo techniques which are used individually, or in combination to suit the needs of each individual. These enhancements are added by a specialized technician using modified tattoo pigment and last an average of 3-5 years, dependent on skin type, lifestyle and aftercare.

Who are PermanentCosmetics/Cosmetic Tattoos for?

Micropigmentation is great for individuals interested in enhancing their facial features without the use of makeup. Do you ever get tired of rushing to put on your brow makeup before you start your day? Do you love your lips so much you’re always adding some colour to ensure everyone notices how flawless you are? Sounds like cosmetic tattoos are probably right for you!

The service is also a great option for clients who suffer from chronic hair loss and alopecia, cancer survivors and diabetic patients, to help restructure the brow shape flawlessly!

Semi-Permanent Brows

Microblading uses a hand tool that looks similar to a pen, with a tight angled grouping of needles to manually add life-like hairstrokes to the brow.

Ombré Brows (Microshading)

Microshading is a popular technique which uses a machine and a pen tool, that looks similar to a tattoo pen. This technique is sometimes referred to as an “ombré brow” as it generally adds a more saturated colour towards the tail of the brow, and gradually gets lighter and more natural towards the bulb of the brow, simulating a perfectly groomed and powdered brow.

Combo brows

Combo brows utilize the techniques in Microblading and Microshading, adding a layer of lifelike hairstrokes to the brow bone and filling in the look with some ombré pigmentation.

Nano Brows

Nano brows make use of a fine tipped needle on a machine- powered pen tool, to add hairstrokes to add to the density and structure of the brow. Nano brows are sometimes a better option for those with delicate, oily or mature skin, as machine work causes a more, superficial trauma to the skin than a microblade.

Lip Blush

Lip blush is a cosmetic tattoo that is great for corrections to shape and colour. This is a subtle tattoo that heals naturally leaving a soft, plump and balanced look to the face. This form of permanent makeup is a wonderful addition to lip fillers or lip flips!
Lips take about 6 weeks to fully heal and a touch up is included at 8 weeks.

Permanent Cosmetics Frequently Asked Questions

How long do permanent cosmetics last?

Gradual fading can be expected for all micro-pigmentation procedures. This varies among people and is dependent on the specific shade used, personal care routine and sun exposure. Most colors last three to five years, although some may not fade for as long as 10 years.

How long do Cosmetic Tattoos take to heal?

The healing process is a lot shorter than a normal tattoo—which takes up to three weeks—because the needle doesn’t go as deep into the layers of your skin. That said, you can still expect a lot of the same things as normal tattoos: scabbing, flaking, and dryness.

Are Permanent Cosmetics Safe?

In the hands of a skilled person, the procedures are generally safe. Permanent makeup is considered micropigmentation, similar to tattoos.

What are the side effects of Permanent Cosmetics/Cosmetic Tattoos?

As with other types of tattoos, a variety of adverse effects have been observed with permanent makeup, such as fanning, fading, and scarring. More severe reactions which are less common include inflammed skin and infections.

What is the difference between Permanent Cosmetics and Microblading?

Permanent makeup and microblading may seem like the same thing, but they are really quite different. Permanent makeup can be done on the eyes, lips, and brows. Microblading is solely for eyebrows. Permanent makeup is done using an electrically powered machine very similar to those regular tattoo artists use.

Is permanent makeup painful?

When thinking about it, most people assume permanent eyeliner is the most painful procedure. This is not the reality. Consequently, many people feel the permanent eyeliner procedure causes some discomfort, but often not anywhere near the pain the person was anticipating.

Does Microblading ruin your natural eyebrows?

In short, no. Although there are some considerations which we’ll get into more below, it doesn’t seem that semi-permanent brow procedures have any kind of lasting effect on the way your natural hair grows, even when it seems your entire brow needs to be reshaped.
